lock-out of main railway route from Czech Republic to north European seaports

11.1.2018

lock-out of main railway route from Czech Republic to north European seaports Dear customers, In February 2018 there will take place a planned lock-out of main railway route from Czech Republic to north European seaports Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Rotterdam in section Czech border – Bad Schandau – Pirna. Operation on this route will be suspended completely in time period February 9th 11.30 pm – February 11th 11.30 pm.

METRANS secured alternative routing via Cheb or via Polish border crossings for some trains, for shipments that cannot be delayed and wait till finish of this two-day lockout.
However, insufficient capacity of these alternative options via single-track non-electrified border crossings doesn’t allow keeping of normal capacity of METRANS trains.
Your shipments will be booked to rerouted trains in order as the transport orders come till its limited capacity will be filled fully.
Transit time will be extended by 24 hours and the delay may become even longer due to overfilling of infrastructure on alternative routes.

We would like to ask you kindly to count with this limitation caused by railway infrastructure administrator DB Netze.

With best regards,
METRANS Praha a.s.
